If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind the cameras at krisann photography, this is us. Not just as photographers, but as a family.

We’re a family-run photography and videography team based in Riverside, California, serving Southern California and beyond. What started as a small, personal passion has grown into something we now build together as husband, wife, and son.

But this story didn’t start with photography.

How It All Began

Before cameras, before weddings, before galleries and timelines, there was music.

Our journey into photography didn’t follow a straight line. It was layered, unexpected, and honestly… better than anything we could have planned ourselves.

What started as a personal love for creativity slowly became something much bigger. Something rooted in family, faith, and a deep desire to preserve moments that pass all too quickly.

Kristi | The Heart Behind the Lens

Hi, I’m Kristi.

Before photography, my world was music. I’ve always had a deep love for piano and voice, and for years, my dream was to work in the music industry. Specifically playing in orchestras for movie scores.

And if I’m being completely honest, my heart was set on Disney.

I’ve always been a Disney girl. And let’s be honest. The music makes the movie.

I went to college as a music major, fully expecting that path to unfold. But then I met Jason… and everything changed in the best way.

We got married just six months after meeting — eloping to Vegas — and started our family soon after.

Life shifted quickly.

I began teaching piano lessons out of our home while raising our boys, and also served as a worship leader at our church. Music was still very much a part of my life, just in a different way than I had imagined.

And then, slowly, something new started to grow.

Photography.

It started simply. Taking photos of my own kids. Capturing everyday moments. But over time, it became something more. A creative pull I couldn’t ignore.

Eventually, I made the decision to close my music business and go back to school to study photography.

And that’s where this all really began.

Jason | The Steady Presence

Jason was never supposed to be a photographer.

At least, not at first.

His dream growing up was to become a professional baseball player. (He was SO close to trying out for the San Diego Padres!)

He joined me for what was meant to be a one-time wedding. Helping out for a friend. And somewhere along the way, he found that he loved it.

And he never left.

Jason brings something to our work that you can’t teach. Calm, steadiness, and the ability to see moments as they unfold naturally.

He’s the guy that can (and will) talk to anyone. He’s genuinely kind. And truly cares about each and every person he meets.

He’s the one capturing what I might miss, grounding the day, and keeping things light.

He’s not just my husband. He’s my partner in every sense of the word.

Austin | The Creative Eye

Austin’s story is one of my favorite parts of this journey.

During our journey as a homeschooling family, I had the opportunity to teach a photography class at our local co-op. And that’s where Austin’s interest first started to show.

Not just interest. True talent.

He began interning with me when he was just 14, learning, observing, and quickly developing an eye that honestly surprised me.

He graduated high school early, went on to attend film school, and shortly afterward, I officially brought him on as our full-time videographer and second shooter.

I can say this without hesitation, his eye is unmatched.

The way he sees light, movement, and storytelling through video is something really special. Watching him grow into his own creative has been one of the greatest gifts of this entire journey.

He’s even gone on to start his own photography business with a friend. Which, as a mom, is just… surreal.

More Than a Business

krisann photography was never meant to be just a business.

It became a space where our family could grow together. Where we could serve others while doing something we genuinely love. Where we get to step into some of the most meaningful moments in people’s lives and preserve them in a way that lasts.

We laugh a lot.
We work hard.
We care deeply about the people we serve.
